Hi, my name is Jarod Ferguson

Hi, my name is Jarod Ferguson.

I’m a tech entrepreneur, coach, investor, and metal guitarist from Idaho.

I run multiple 7-figure companies bootstrapped from $0 to $30 million in sales, I’ve invested in a handful of start-ups in healthcare, SaaS, computer vision, productivity, and over the years, I’ve carved out a name for myself in the tech world.

If you told me 20 years ago this is how my life would pan out, I would’ve gawked in disbelief. I might’ve even laughed at you.

I’ve always had a fascination with building things. At the age of seven, I found myself in summer school learning to code BASIC and logo.

My love for computers grew from there. I started building my own computer from hand-me-downs and used them to write scripts and crash AOL chat rooms.

In grade school, I was writing my first lines of code and by high school I was abusing drugs and in and out of the system.

I know, that sounds crazy. How does a bright kid go from coding and watching Voltron to being in an episode of Breaking Bad?

There was loss, there was abuse, there was addiction. And as a bonus feature, I was a kid too smart for his own good.

Though I ended up living with my very supportive and loving grandparents, I felt disconnected. I had no regard for my own life, I was hanging out with all the wrong people, and before I hit 20, I was locked up for 9 months.

But it really didn’t hit me until I heard those two life changing words over the phone, “I’m pregnant.”

Here I am, a 19 year old with a record, an addict, and now soon to be a father.

Absolutely terrified of losing my freedom at such a young age, I was forced to set those feelings aside. Things had to change.

I had responsibilities. I had a family to take care of and they were priority #1.

That was when I started to get my act together. I got clean, found a job at a call center supporting HP printers, and turned my life around.

I worked my way off the phones into writing software that managed to automate giant call centers for HP.

And this was where I rediscovered my real love for coding—my passion for creation.

I made a name for myself in software architecture, was awarded Microsoft MVP three years in a row and started my first software business with some friends in 2009.

In 2011, I began working on my own SaaS platform while launching my own software development shop to pay the bills. The dev shop took off.

I was the guy people would come to when they had an idea and needed help turning it into a fully operational software product.

I’d build prototypes, help raise money, which led me to a disruptive healthcare startup in 2013 where I helped them design and develop a tech platform, find product market fit with thousands of customers and millions in revenue.

At this point in my career, life really turned around. There were new clients, big contracts were signed and success was now the norm.

The business was growing and I “should’ve” been happy, but that wasn’t the case. And that’s where the growth slowly started tapering off.

I was struggling to handle the pressure, battling with alcohol and my personal life was unraveling. Things were dark.

I joined masterminds and attended entrepreneur events thinking they’d be the solution to my own problems but it wasn’t long before I realized how misaligned I was in those spaces.

I pivoted the company, created new software products, and started new brands in search of success.

Initially I was telling myself that I was just so interested in solving problems and wanted to build amazing software—something I was good at.

While there was truth to that, I became so focused on the scoreboard that I lost the joy of actually playing the game.

What I thought was me just trying to better myself, ended up being me chasing success in order to prove something.

To prove that everyone who said I wouldn’t amount to anything was wrong.

To prove that I was worthy of the life I built.

Have you ever found yourself wondering why you do what you do?

I ask because it’s something a lot of us entrepreneurs glaze over.

We all have our quick 5 second answer: we want to make a lasting impact, we want to change the world.

But does it come from a place of ego or is it coming from alignment?

I’d pieced together that, even though I was experiencing the success I’d been working towards for so long, I wasn’t fulfilled in my work.

I was delegating everything I liked about being a creator and loading my plate with all the tasks and responsibilities that drained me.

So I went searching for a solution that would actually make me feel good about working in my space. I spent a small fortune hiring coaches, talking to therapists, and trying to understand myself at my core.

At first I was under the belief it was a systems problem, how I was running my life, how efficient I was.

And sure, that was true to a point, but there was always something deeper underneath the surface.

It wasn’t until my psychedelic therapy journeys and a year long ontological coaching program that I was able to gain a deeper perspective and see what was really going on.

I was living life out of fear and survival, driven from my past. I was someone that had everything to prove and was scared to fail.

That deeply affected not only my personal and professional relationships, but the relationship with myself.

Once I actually started healing the pieces of me that were fractured at such a young age I developed the awareness to see life differently.

To love all that it is to be human with courage and compassion, starting with me.

Psychedelic therapy provided a gateway for me to see into my subconscious. To see the repressed memories lurking in my shadow and allow me process the traumas driving my behaviors.

To reset those core thinking patterns that were not serving me.

Being a student of Ontology gave me the framework to explore my ways of perceiving, being, and interacting with the world.

Integrating all my learnings about psychology and performance into a set of tools and models to empower change.

Through this process I realized I have a set of gifts and experiences I can use to serve others who were like me.

Those who faced life's challenges head-on, using their resilience, ingenuity, and creativity to rise above their circumstances. Yet, despite their achievements, find themselves feeling isolated, navigating the lonely peaks of business success.

I'm not claiming to have all the answers—truthfully, no one does. However, I've embraced a renewed sense of purpose.

Every day, I strive to live authentically, tapping into my inner creator to fuel my passion and growth, even when faced with fear.

- I am mindful, balanced, and authentic.

- I create regularly both in my business and personal life.

- I lead multiple teams making significant impacts on the tech world.

- I coach tech entrepreneurs and founders on how to bring back joy, fulfillment, and growth into their lives and businesses.

If anything, I “work” more now than I ever have.

The difference is, I’m so aligned with what I want to do that it doesn’t feel like work. I’m crafting a life in which I don’t seek an escape or retirement.

And that’s what I want to help others like me do with their lives.

My goal is to create a space where we can connect with our purpose and use that as fuel to not only grow businesses, but to grow as humans.

If you’re interested in working with me to achieve that for yourself, I’d like to invite you to book a call with me.

On the call we’ll uncover the obstacles that are keeping you from achieving what you want both personally and professionally.
